Who We Are
Ranking among the world’s largest and most respected fine art, antiques, and jewelry galleries, M.S. Rau, located in the heart of New Orleans’ French Quarter, celebrated its 100th year of business in 2012. The Rau for Art Foundation was founded to celebrate this milestone—and as a way to identify and develop young artistic talent in the region and to give back to the community that has supported the gallery throughout the years. RFA is a registered 501(c)3 charitable foundation.
Mission Statement
We support arts appreciation and education in the schools of Greater New Orleans by assisting talented young artists to reach their academic and professional goals in the arts.
We accomplish this mission through our two primary programs: the Art Scholarship Competition and the Teacher Assistance Fund. We have partnered with over 30 local schools and have impacted the arts education of thousands of local students. RFA is run by a committee of rotating M.S. Rau team members who have a passion for the arts and arts education!
If you’d like to support our work, feel free to arrange a tax-deductible donation with our team or acquire a copy of Nineteenth-Century European Paintings by Bill Rau, whose proceeds benefit the foundation.
